Shakshuka with feta is a wonderful idea for an incredibly aromatic breakfast, perfect for lazy Sundays. It's tasty and incredibly filling.

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • - 30 ml olive oil

  • - 200 g onion

  • - 460 g red bell pepper

  • - 20 g garlic

  • - 800 g canned tomatoes

  • - 8 eggs

  • - 160 g Feta cheese

  • - 70 g fresh cilantro

Spices: salt, pepper, chilli powder, ground coriander seeds, cumin

Equipment: large frying pan, stove

Recipe for shakshuka with feta step by step:

1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Add chopped onions and bell peppers and fry for about 15 minutes. Add chopped garlic and fry for another minute.

2. Pour in the tomatoes, add cumin, chilli powder, and coriander—season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the tomato sauce thickens about 10-15 minutes. Add crumbled feta cheese.

3. Make 4 small holes in the sauce. Could you gently crack eggs into the pan? Season with salt and pepper. Cover with a lid and cook for 8 minutes.

4. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
